One of the ‘Hidden Figures’ to speak at Richmond school

One of the female black mathematicians who helped put American astronauts on the moon will speak at a Richmond school.

Christine Darden was featured in the book “Hidden Figures,” which then went on to be an Oscar-nominated movie.

Darden joined NASA in the late 1960s as a data analyst at Langley Research Center in Hampton.

She also studied and worked as a professor at Virginia State University.

Darden will speak at the Richmond Montessori School at 10 a.m. on Friday.
